Slept until 8:30 AM? What?? Apparently I was exhausted!
Today is finally the first day in months where we don't have 1000 things planned and I can actually get some things done around the house at my leisure. I started the morning by tackling the garage and cleaning up some of the 300 things left kicking around from the garage sale in June. We still have tons of stuff from Krista's dad after he moved into a much smaller condo and we have things to sell online in order to get the garage back to some semblance of normality.
We had to use buckets to empty all the water in the boat as it is backed into the driveway and pointed forwards and I forgot to cover it up last night and it filled with rain. After we accomplished decided to take the boys golfing as the local golf course had a promotion on all week whereby if one adult pays the green fee, the children get to golf for free. I let Nicholas drive the truck down to the valley and he did remarkably well by not running into anything or anyone. For $30, we all got to golf nine holes and we got a big bucket of range balls to practice with. We played a two ball system so that if the boys made a mistake they could choose the better of the two hits. There was no groups behind us for an hour so we have the luxury of taking our time. I shot one over par and the boys shot two over par. I could not believe how phenomenal of golf swing both boys have. It's unfortunate our summer budget is all going to our trip to Europe as it would've been wise to invest in a junior membership for them both based on how well they did. Hopefully we can get out once or twice this week to take advantage of the promotion again.
After golf we came home and had a bite to eat for lunch and proceeded to complete a bunch of chores and finish up the garage. The boys did some gaming and we basically tidied up and got supper ready. The weather has been quite unusual this week with hot sunny mornings followed by clouds and rain intermittently in the afternoon and evening.
Krista barbecued a couple of pork loins and we settled into watching a movie called "the big short". It had won many awards and was quite entertaining and how it was filmed. Another fantastic sober day with both work and play.
